Take another little piece of my tart: The top things to do this Valentine’s Day

It’s that time of the year again. Couples will be out in droves to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Tuesday 14th February 2017. With love in the air, it’s important you make the right impression.

So how do you find something to do that is a) romantic and b) something you will both enjoy? Luckily for you, we have some great suggestions to help you solve this romantic riddle.

Go to a restaurant

This is the gold standard of Valentine’s Day dates and is a foolproof way of ensuring you have a good night. All you have to do is find out what food your partner fancies and check restaurants that are pricey enough to impress, but not so much that you need to take out a mortgage. Just be wary of food allergies! Nothing kills the mood more than a trip to A&E.

Dinner party

If you don’t feel like going out, or if you’re sick of the sight of each other,  then stay in and host for your nearest and dearest. A dinner party is a great way to buck the traditional couple-oriented Valentine’s Day trend and to catch up with old mates, regardless of their relationship status. Better still, if you don’t feel like cooking then you can have everyone bring a dish! There’ll be something for everyone and no washing up!

Go for a massage

If you and your partner enjoy relaxation then what better way to spend the day than being touched by professionals as you lay side by side? Along with working out those knots in your back, massage has the potential to ease everything from headaches to anxiety to insomnia so indulge yourself and experience true tranquility.

Go Glamping

Nothing tests the true bonds of love than getting drunk in a field whilst trying to light up the portable cooker. Minimal effort is required in the wardrobe department as you can swap Boss for Berghaus and stilettos for steel-capped boots. Moreover, camping allows you to escape the crazy pressure of a city date and experience some beautiful scenery.

Comedy night

They say couples who laugh together share a stronger bond so have an evening filled with light entertainment and go to a comedy night. A word of warning, though. if the stand-up act starts making jokes about your partner, don’t laugh. Laughter may be the best medicine but it can also land you in A&E… Alongside the couple with the food allergy.

Workshop

If you’re a couple who like to learn a skill or trade, then you should definitely consider a workshop. It can make a great alternative Valentine’s date whilst doing something truly fun and memorable. Into food? How about taking a sushi making class? Into fitness? Do a yoga class! The possibilities are endless!
